This page shows our various mixed native hedging packs, containing species we've carefully selected to cover the most common requirements of our customers. Mixed native hedging packs are the basis of millions of miles of hedgerows up and down the country, and we offer 5 different commonly requested combinations of species, shown below - a cheap and cheerful option for farm hedgerows, an option that is particularly wildlife friendly, one in which all the species are flowering and berrying plants, one that omits species that can be harmful to horses, and one that's suitable for coastal situations. All packs contain only native species, and all the plants are grown in Herefordshire.
We sell lots of these packs to farmers but you don't need to have a farm to buy these packs - we sell them in packs of 50 plants so that's enough for a 10 metre run of hedging, or 8m if you plant densely, so that suits most gardens. All of these packs will create an informal hedge of native species that are extremely wildlife friendly.
Mixed native hedging packs are normally comprised of bare root plants, so they are only available in the dormant season from November to April. You can pre order from late summer, to be at the head of the queue for a delivery. Because of the popularity of mixed native hedging, we also have two pot grown mixed native options (20 plants or 50 plants) for those planting from late Spring through to early Autumn.
If you want something slightly different, you are welcome to email us with your specific requirements and we'll make up a pack just for you. Or you can make up your own mixed hedge by ordering your choice of species, with a minimum of just 5 plants per species.
