Intruder-Proof Hedging Plants
Many of the hedging species we offer have thorns or prickly leaves. Once they reach their mature height and fill out a bit, they can form just as impenetrable a barrier as a wall or fence, but with bare root plants, at a fraction of the cost.
Hedges keep things in (cows, sheep, etc) but are also a green alternative to timber fences and brick or stone walls. Of course, in many parts of the country, walls are a more typical field boundary (Lake District, for example), but generally, it is part of the British landscape that hedges create divisions. This section is about keeping things out - burglars, naughty children, other people's dogs - and all these species will quickly form a seriously off-putting barrier.
