Yellow and green medium sized leaves, semi evergreen (most stay on the plants in Winter but some do drop and the Winter appearance is somewhat &quot;thinner&quot; than when the new growth appears in Spring
Very pollution tolerant so a terrific species for urban areas and it is often seen widely planted with every house in a street having a Golden Privet hedge
Non-native but we do also have Wild Privet which is native
Toxic if eaten
Quite fast growing and suitable for all situations other than very wet soils

Wildlife-friendly flowers and fruits, and a good dense evergreen wildlife habitat
Mid-sized dark green leaves on dark red stems
Native to Portugal, Spain, Western France, Morocco, Madeira and Canary Islands
Good wind tolerance and good in all situations other than at the coast
We have a wide range of options in Portuguese Laurel - pot grown, root balled (many sizes available) and 1m long troughs of instant hedging.&amp;nbsp; Please contact us if we are not showing the size you want - we often have additional options on the nursery.

Yew is popular as a hedging plant but can also be grown as individual trees, which are good in woodlands (where there is no risk of cattle/sheep grazing, because it is toxic) to provide some evergreen cover
