&amp;nbsp;Non-native and grows mostly in South of England
&amp;nbsp;Produces chestnuts used in cooking
&amp;nbsp;The coppiced wood is often used for fencing
&amp;nbsp;Beautiful large shiny leaves
&amp;nbsp;A large tree which reaches a mature height of up to 30m
&amp;nbsp;This species i suitable to use as a hedgerow tree (planting density 1 every 5-10m) or in woodland creation (planting density 1 every 2-3sqm) as well as in large gardens and parks
All the plants on this page are grown in Britain
We have bare root Sweet Chestnut in the dormant season (November to April) and cell grown plants available all year round

Also good in damp soils and at the coast
An easy way to add some evergreen cover into a mixed native hedge
Livestock safe (can be used as livestock feed) but not recommended near horse paddocks
Holly makes a fantastic single species hedge (or a component of a mixed hedge) but these plants can also be grown as individual trees either in a woodland setting or a garden
