Even if you're not fond of fruit, Pear trees are fantastic hedging plants as they produce stunning white blossom when flowering. Pear tree hedges are not quite as hardy as apples, but nearly so. They do however require some winter chilling to produce fruit which is edible and delicious either raw or cooked.
