Our RHS Premium Viburnum plicatum Mariesii is a large shrub with spreading branches; veined, dark green leaves, which turn purple in autumn; and lacey, white flower heads in late spring sometimes followed by red or black fruit. Grow in any moist but well-drained soil. It will reach a height of 4m and a spread of 4m after 10-20 years. Fruit can cause a mild stomach upset.
