Taxus baccata, more commonly known as Common or English Yew is a medium-sized evergreen tree with narrow, dark-green leaves, sometimes with fleshy red fruits.
It is an excellent plant for hedging or topiary. Plant in any well-drained soil. Will tolerate exposure, dry soils and urban pollution. It will reach a height of 15m and a spread of 12m after 20-50 years. CAUTION Most parts, especially the seeds, are highly toxic if eaten.
