Our RHS Premium Syringa Vulgaris Souvenir de Louis Spaeth (Common Lilac) produces fragrant, beautiful flowers with a large spreading habit. The leaves are heart-shaped, oval and pointed, and are about 10cm long. The flowers are in dense pyramidal heads, and are white or pale purple. Grow in full sun as this will help the species to produce the most flowers. You should prune moderately every other year if needed and remove old wood and any suckers that appear near the base of the plant.
