The Sorbus vilmorinii is a small undemanding ornamental Rowan with pretty feathered foliage and wonderful colour changing berries. As one of the smallest growing of all the rowans, the foliage made up of long fronded deep green opposing leaflets looks extremely delicate and the during spring, the soft flowers that emerge from the base of the leaves add to its fragile look. By Autumn the leaves turn deep red and purple which help show off the bold colours of the plentiful berries that have developed which move through a wide colour spectrum changing from maroon to rosy white often sticking on pinkish tones.
