Complete Product Information for Reed Canary Grass (Phalaris arundinacea) Pack of 12 Cell Grown
Canary Reed Grass is a tall, weed-smothering ground cover, and can be mixed with other vigorous plants such as self-seeding annuals and perennials for a low-maintenance, cottage garden-style border. Reed Canary Grass can be invasive, so restrict its spread in more formal surroundings, by growing it in a large pot sunk in the ground. Tall, pink to brown flowers are produced in summer.

The plants come with their root systems intact, whereas bare root plants can lose the fine feeding roots and root hairs when they are lifted. This means that cell grown plants can become more quickly established than bare root. Another advantage of cell grown Canary Reed Grass is that it can be planted into warm soils when roots are active, outside the dormant period. As long as the roots are kept moist, cell grown plants can be planted throughout the year.

Although not traditionally a hedge plant these make such a great spectacle along a damp waterside that they spread like a hedge of wonderful grasses forming the visual barrier a hedgerow does therefore we couldn't leave these out!
