The Pittosporum tobira or the Japanese Mock Orange is a slow growing species with lovely glossy dark green foliage. In late spring to summer it produces small white flowers which turn a creamy yellow as the season progresses. These are sweetly scented with an orange blossom perfume, which gives the Pittosporum tobira its common name. Ideally grown as a wall shrub, it will eventually form a rounded dense bush. It does best in either full sun or partial shade, and in well drained but moist soil. During the growth period water and feed regularly, but keep on the dry side during winter.
