Platanus hispanica, or London Plane is a well known tree in the UK, first recorded in the 1660s it was noted for its resistance to pollution and is often credited with the clearance of smog in London. It has large, broad lobed leaves of green and the trunk flakes to reveal a patchwork of green, white and cream. A mature tree can reach heights upwards of 20 meters.
