First introduced in the early 1870s, the Acer platanoides ``Globosum`` is a brilliant looking tree. It is often referred to as a lollipop tree because of its rounded crown, which creates a globular mass of large green leaves. It thrives well on all soils that are humus rich, and it needs a position in full sun or partial shade.
