The Sorbus Thuringiaca Fastigiata (Rowan tree, Mountain ash) has a broad, conical, compact habit. When young, `Fastigiata` is narrow and upright. Leaves are elliptic to ovate, shiny, deep green, deeply lobed, to 6 inches long. White flowers are borne in corymbs to 5 inches wide, followed by brilliant red, round berries. This hardy tree can tolerate heat or cold, strong winds and low humidity.
