The Quercus palustris of 'Pin Oak' is an elegant tree suited to woodland, large gardens and parkland. Native to Eastern North America, it has graceful, slightly drooping slender branches, with a pyramidal mature shape. The foliage turns from a bright glossy green in summer to stunning shades of bronze, orange, crimson and purple in the autumn. Fully hardy, this tree is suitable for growing in full sun or partial shade. Although it can be grown in most soil types, it prefers free draining slightly acidic soil.
