Commonly known as Himalayan Birch, Jacquemontii is a deciduous tree with peeling, dazzling white bark. The foliage is tapered and oval in shape, and a glossy dark green which turns to yellow in autumn. Yellow-brown male catkins appear in early spring.
The Betula ultilis Jacquemontii is a medium sized tree with ascending branches best known for its distinctive thin, white papery bark that sheds in large sheets routinely each year in winter. It has a slender, upright habit, and does best planted in full sun or partial shade.
