The Betula Papyrifera is an attractive, popular birch. The bark is bright silver-white to light blue, and peels off periodically to reveal orange beneath. The bark is particularly eye catching when the tree is leafless in the winter. This tree needs ample water, and will not tolerate long periods of drought. The leaves are about 10cms long and will turn yellow in the autumn.
