Complete Product Information for Ornamental Bark: Pack of 8 (14-16cm Girth Root Ball)
Betula albosinensis var. septentrionalis: One of the most attractive birch trees. Commonly known as 'Northern Chinese Red Birch' makes an excellent medium sized specimen tree. It has highly attractive peeling bark, with shades of coppery pink, orange and red, which is particularly eye catching in winter when the tree is leafless. It produces yellow-brown catkins in spring, and has green foliage which turns yellow in the autumn and creates dappled shade. This tree does best when planted in full sun/partial shade, and is tolerant of most soils.

Betula utilis Jacquemontii: Commonly known as Himalayan Birch, it is deciduous tree with peeling, dazzling white bark. The foliage is tapered and oval in shape, and a glossy dark green which turns to yellow in autumn. Yellow-brown male catkins appear in early spring. It is a medium sized tree with ascending branches best known for its distinctive thin, white papery bark that sheds in large sheets routinely each year in winter. It has a slender, upright habit, and does best planted in full sun or partial shade.

Fraxinus Excelsior Jaspidea:A striking cultivar that was found originally in France. It is a vigorous, medium sized deciduous tree, with lush green leaves that develop glorious, long lasting, butter yellow autumn colours in mid to late October. The young branches are an attractive, golden-yellow and are particularly handsome throughout winter. It is a beautiful tree for large gardens and woodland areas. Suitable for a position in full sun and grows well in most soil including chalk. They are hardy and reasonably tolerant of windy areas, pollution and costal sites.

Prunus Tibetica:First introduced to the UK in 1908 from Western China, it is one of the best trees for bark interest. The bark is a wonderful shining mahogany brown, which only gets better as the tree ages. The leaves are narrow and willow like, and during spring small white flowers adorn the branches. A small, fast growing tree Prunus Tibetica has a rounded habit and has a mature height of 5-10 meters, it will do best on well drained but moist soil, in a position where it will get full sun exposure. Due to the small habit of the tree it is suitable for smaller gardens. It was awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
