Complete Product Information for Native Tree Mix Pack of 8 (8-10cm Girth Bare Root)
Alnus Glutinosa: A tree that will grow slowly but can eventually reach a height of up to 60ft. This tree will provide screening or shade on wet sites with poor drainage. The flowers are yellowish-brown and are borne in catkins in late winter or early spring; they are followed by small cone-shaped fruits. The foliage will provide interesting seasonal change; the young leaves will appear yellow in spring, then turn light green in the summer and then turn a darker shade of green. The leaves are oval, about 10cm long and toothed.

Betula Pendula: A very popular landscape tree which is grown for its weeping habit and graceful form. The foliage can range from a rich green to dark red or reddish-green. The bark on the trunk is white marked with black and it makes a dramatic display against a dark evergreen background. All birches are prone to aphids, bronze birch borers and birch leaf-miners. They are not drought-tolerant and will perform best with a regular watering and feeding. The glossy leaves are about 6cms long with a diamond shaped and a tapered point, that will turn yellow in the autumn.

Fagus Sylvatica: A large and fast-growing deciduous native plant with a broad spreading crown; elliptic, yellow-green leaves in spring, turning rich russet-brown in autumn; and small, green flowers, followed by bristly fruits. Grown for its superb foliage of delicate fluttery leaves with wavy edges. It has simple beautiful green leaves, which shine with life in spring and turn a beautiful bronze and yellow color in the autumn.

Populus Tremula: A medium-sized deciduous plant growing to 10–25 m tall, with a trunk up to 1 m diameter. The bark is pale greenish-grey and smooth on young trees with dark grey diamond-shaped lenticels, becoming dark grey and fissured on older trees. The leaves on seedlings and fast-growing stems of root sprouts are very different, heart-shaped to nearly triangular, and often much larger, up to 20 cm long. Adult leaves, produced on branches of mature trees, are nearly round, slightly wider than long, 2–8 cm diameter, with a coarsely toothed margin and a laterally flattened petiole 4–8 cm long.
