The RHS Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) or Rowan, forms a native deciduous hedge that is very tolerant.
A wildlife haven, it produces lovely white flowers in late spring and large bunches of dark red berries, 1cm across, in autumn. The attractive RHS Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) leaves change from medium green into a yellow orange adding colour to your garden.
The RHS Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) is very popular because it can survive on poor soils and is particulary suited to very acid soils. Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) is often seen in urban and exposed areas because it can be grown in exposed and polluted conditions.
If left to grow to a Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) tree, it will become a rounded 12m tall x 8m wide tree with upright branches. The Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) hedge requires little maintenance although you may want to remove broken, or dead branches in late autumn
