Weed Suppressant Mat: Woven Polypropylene Suppressants are far more effective as a mat to aid tree development. This material not only stops weed development due to it being lightproof but it also allows water to drain through the mat providing the essential moisture the tree needs. These mats are also much stronger than plain UVI mats which helps them to resist tearing and blowing free in windy conditions. These Mats have a life expectancy of at least 5 years so will be an effective mat for the trees initial development period.

Tree Stake: Four way pointed, pressure treated softwood tree stakes. These high quality wooden tree stakes are sourced from well managed Baltic forests. Tree stakes are used to support our range of plastic mesh tree guards and tree shelters, or in conjuction with our tree ties for plant support.

60cm Buckle Ties: The Buckle Tree Tie is still the most widely used type of tree tie due to their simplicity, ease of use and reliability. The Buckle is uniquely strong, manufactured in unbreakable Polycarbonate, which is needed to withstand the incredibly high loads that winds can apply to the middle of the buckle. This tree tie comes with a collar that fits between the tree and stake to prevent the tree rubbing against the stake and also allows some stretch to give the tree some movement which helps it develop its own resistance to wind. This stretch also reduces the amount of maintenance needed with this type of tree tie to less than every two years, but we do recommend inspections at these intervals to prevent the risk of tree bulging damage. This product also offers a very long life performance and will last well in excess of ten years allowing them to be reused if required.
