The Malus Rudolph is a medium sized tree, columnar in shape when young but develops a more rounded crown as it matures. The tree exhibit’s a number of colourful changes within its leaves throughout the year. When the leaves are young they hold a bronzed purple to red colour however with maturity these shades change to a more bronze green colour. The Rudolph’s flowers are also of great interest as deep purple pink buds open into brilliant large rose red flowers which often hide the darker oblong fruits until the leaves fall and the fruits persist.
