Small, upright deciduous tree with outstanding leaf colouration, bronze red when young turning to dark bronze green. Very deep rose-red flower buds opening to rose-red flowers. Orange-yellow apples persit well into autumn. It thrives in a wide range of soils, and while it is quite happy in partial shade, the leaves have a better bronze-red colour in full sun. It can grow upto a height of 7m and a spread of 4m.
