The Premium RHS potted Mahonia japonica is a winter-flowering evergreen shrub with terminal clusters of lemon-yellow blooms. The foliage turns a rich reddish-purple in the winter. Plant in well-drained, or moist but well-drained, soil in shade or partial shade. It will reach a height of 1.5m and a spread of 1.5m when mature.
