RHS LIGUSTRUM ovalifolium Aureum (Golden oval leaf privet) is a large, evergreen shrub with a dense covering of shiny, oval, yellow leaves with a central green splodge. In summer, it bears small panicles of creamy-white flowers that may be followed by small black berries in autumn. Plant in any soil as long as it is free-draining in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 4m and a spread of 4m after 10-20 years. Fruit is black in autumn. All parts may cause severe discomfort if ingested.
