Product Code:  COLA12

From Only: £18.39 Ex VAT
Or £1.53 Per Plant

Our RHS Late Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster lacteus) cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist. The plants come with their root systems intact, whereas bare root plants can lose the fine feeding roots and root hairs when they are lifted. This means that cell grown plants can become more quickly established than bare root.

Benefits
• RHS cell grown Late Cotoneaster hedging plants, under licence granted by the Royal Horticultural Society
• Extended planting season - they can be planted when you want to plant them as long as the roots are kept moist. You are not restricted to the bare root season
• Minimal root disturbance - root systems are supplied intact - with no loss of fine feeding roots and root hairs so once planted they can grow rapidly not suffering the shock that bare root plants will.
• Uniformity - these plants are more uniform.

NB: Our cell grown plants are sold in quantities of 12. Unfortunately we are unable deliver split bundles. We can offer a substantial volume discount. These plants are between 20-50cm high though the actual height may vary due to the growing season.

Complete Product Information for Late Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster lacteus) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 20-50cm
Our RHS Late Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster lacteus) is a dense, fast growing evergreen hedge with arching branches bearing large, leathery, deep veined leaves that are dark green above and yellow-white felted beneath.

It has clusters of many milky-white flowers in June and July followed by persistent red berries in autumn. Trim back vigorous shoots after flowering and trim to shape in February. It is suitable for all positions in particular full sun coastal areas and will tolerate shade and poor soil.

The Cotoneaster lacteus has no serious insect or disease problems. A potential disease is fireblight. Potential insects include aphids, scale and brown scale.

Another advantage of cell grown Late Cotoneaster is that it can be planted into warm soils when roots are active, outside the dormant period. As long as the roots are kept moist, cell grown plants can be planted throughout the year.
