Complete Product Information for Large Tree Mix: Pack of 8 (8-10cm Girth Bare Root)
Alnus incana Laciniata: is an ornamental, cut leaf form of the Grey Alder. A medium tree with a conical chape, it has very attractive foliage complimented by smooth grey bark.
The leaves are grey/green and deeply serrated, creating a pretty effect. Suits many different situations, but does best in sun or partial shade in moist soil. This deciduous, upright tree has a distinctive, flame-like outline which grows wider with age. Leaves are oval and dark green, turning yellow and orange when in autumn.

Carpinus Betulus Fastigiata: A tree with ovate, serrate, ribbed leaves. This Deciduous medium to large sized tree has an erect pyramidal habit, which can be planted in any reasonable soil. Hornbeam retains brown foliage in winter, especially if pruned in late summer. This makes it an excellent windbreak and screen. So much so that it used to be used in mazes.

Quercus Robur: A common sight around the UK, oak is a tree synonymous with Royalty, It is distinguished from others in the species by its leaves having only a very short stalk 3 to 8 mm long, and by its pendunculate acorns. The acorns form a valuable food resource for several small mammals and birds. The leaves are 7 to 14 cm long and 4 to 8 cm broad, evenly lobed with five to six lobes on each side, and a 1 cm petiole. The flowers are catkins, produced in the spring.

Tilia europea Euchlora: A fast growing, pyramidal tree the Silver Lime was first introduced in Britain in the 1700s, primarily as an ornamental tree thanks to its eye catching silver foliage. A hardy tree, it is perfect for using in conditions where other trees may not survive. It is perfect for growing in an urban environment, as it is particularly tolerant to pollution. A deciduous tree, the broad leaves are green with an underside of silver, which in windy conditions can create a wonderful shimmering effect, during the autumn they turn a magnificent bright yellow just before they fall. The ultimate height is around 20 meters with the trunk reaching around 2 meters in girth. It was awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
