Our RHS Himalayan Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster simonsii) is a semi-evergreen, erectly growing medium sized shrub. Large scarlet fruits are held after the abundant white flowers with pale pink stamens that are very attractive to insects. This plant is particularly shade tolerant and will put up with most soil types.

Complete Product Information for Himalayan Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster simonsii) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 20-40cm
In summer tiny white flowers, tinged pink in June attract honey and bumble bees followed by persistent red berries in autumn.

The numerous clusters of oval, bright orange red berries are particularly long lasting. The fruits, up to 1cm long, are preceded by little, cup shaped flowers. This plant is erect with long, stiff branches.

Cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist. The plants come with their root systems intact, whereas bare root plants can lose the fine feeding roots and root hairs when they are lifted. This means that cell grown plants can become more quickly established than bare root.

Another advantage of cell grown Himalayan Cotoneaster is that it can be planted into warm soils when roots are active, outside the dormant period. As long as the roots are kept moist, cell grown plants can be planted throughout the year.
