The RHS Premium Gleditsia Triacathos ‘Sunburst’ is one of the most effective fast growing deciduous golden trees and particularly useful when creating a contrast against darker green backgrounds. In spring the trees foliage is thick with golden pinnate fern like leaves which take on a pale green colour before reverting to a butter yellow shade in autumn. The tree is also particularly attractive in summer as long brown, slightly twisted seed pods are visible throughout the trees open spreading crown and on its distinctive horizontal branches.

The Sunburst is a thornless fast growing variety that is very hardy and will cope well with pollution or drought prone soils making it well suited to small gardens in towns or cities. Whether planted in full sun or sandy soils, cold or exposed locations, this is a resilient tough tree and will develop an attractive form and foliage for all year round foliage.
