Our RHS Premium Fuchsia Riccartonii is an upright, mid-sized, deciduous shrub with small, mid-green leaves. In summer and autumn it bears small, single flowers with crimson tube and sepals, and violet-purple petals. It suits well drained soils in sunny position. This plant is also good for hedging and will reach a height of 2.5m and a spread of 1.5m after 5-10 years. Plant outdoors in moist, fertile soil. Plant the base of the stem 5cm below the soil surface and provide a deep winter mulch and shelter from cold drying winds.
