Escallonia rubra macrantha is a beautiful evergreen shrub with shiny, dark-green, ovate leaves. From early summer to early autumn, it bears clusters of tubular, deep pink flowers which are slighlt scented. It is an ddeal hedging plant for coastal areas and will thrive in Chalky, Clay, Loamy or Sandy soils.
