The Escallonia Compacta Coccinea is a neat-- evergreen shrub with masses of red flowers in late summer and autumn. It is ideal for mass planting or as a hedge. This plant can be trimmed after flowering if required.
This sun-loving shrub prefers well-drained-- acidic to mildly alkaline soil. It tolerates drought and salt air-- but will not stand dry desert heat. It can be pruned back flowering stems in fall or winter. This low-maintenance shrub excels as a wall or foundation plant or in a mixed border.
