The Escallonia Compacta Coccinea is a neat, evergreen shrub with masses of red flowers in late summer and autumn. It is ideal for mass planting or as a hedge. This plant can be trimmed after flowering if required.

This sun-loving shrub prefers well-drained, acidic to mildly alkaline soil. It tolerates drought and salt air, but will not stand dry desert heat. It can be pruned back flowering stems in fall or winter. This low-maintenance shrub excels as a wall or foundation plant or in a mixed border.
