This RHS Premium Cell Grown Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga taxifolia) forms a crown narrow to broadly conic and produces evergreen foliage yellow-green to dark or even bluish green in colour. The one inch long, blunt tipped needles are also very fragrant. Rather than growing out of the branches and upwards the large brown cones will hand down directly from the branches and are produced every year after 10 years or so of growth. They will need some moisture to perform well and will tolerate wind and shade.

Benefits
• Extended planting season - they can be planted when you want to plant them-- as long as the roots are kept moist. You are not restricted to the bare root season • Minimal root disturbance - root systems are supplied intact - with no loss of fine feeding roots and root hairs-- so once planted they can grow rapidly-- not suffering the shock that bare root plants will. • Uniformity - these plants are more uniform.
NB: Our cell grown plants are sold in quantities of 12. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver split bundles. We can offer a substantial volume discount. These plants are between 15-30cm high though the actual height may vary due to the growing season.
