Our RHS Himalayan Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster simonsii) is a semi-evergreen, erectly growing medium sized shrub. Large scarlet fruits are held after the abundant white flowers with pale pink stamens that are very attractive to insects. This plant is particularly shade tolerant and will put up with most soil types.

In summer tiny white flowers, tinged pink in June attract honey and bumble bees followed by persistent red berries in autumn.
The numerous clusters of oval, bright orange red berries are particularly long lasting. The fruits, up to 1cm long, are preceded by little, cup shaped flowers. This plant is erect with long, stiff branches.
The Cotoneaster Simonsii is suitable for all positions and soils, but extremes of wetness and dryness should be avoided. It has been awarded the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit). For hedging, trim back vigorous shoots after flowering and trim to shape in February. For hedges 3-5ft (0.9m-1.5m), plant 12-15ins (30-38cm) apart.
