The RHS Common Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus) is a fast growing, multi-stemmed deciduous hedge. It is bushy with a rounded habit and spread by suckers underground. With blue-green leaves in the summer progressing into the autumn; 1.5-5cm long, rounded, entire or with one or two lobes at the base.
During the summer, the RHS Common Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus) produces small green-white to pink flowers which start to bloom. They have terminal spikes on current growth and form small clusters of 5-15. Followed by white, conspicuous and round fruits; 1-2cm in diameter and persist between September to November.
The RHS Common Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus) is suitable for all positions and soils, it thrives in well-drained/light, clay/heavy soils in full sun or partial shade. It is easy to transplant and prune before ne growth.
Toxicity: The berries can cause a mild skin irritation when handled, so do wear gloves if handling the plant.
