Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 10-20cm

Product Code:  BUSE12

From Only: £29.19 Ex VAT
Or £2.43 Per plant

Our RHS Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist. The plants come with their root systems intact, whereas bare root plants can lose the fine feeding roots and root hairs when they are lifted. This means that cell grown plants can become more quickly established than bare root. Another advantage of cell grown Common Box is that it can be planted into warm soils when roots are active, outside the dormant period. As long as the roots are kept moist, cell grown plants can be planted throughout the year.

Benefits
• RHS cell grown Box hedging plants, under licence granted by the Royal Horticultural Society
• Extended planting season - they can be planted when you want to plant them as long as the roots are kept moist. You are not restricted to the bare root season
• Minimal root disturbance - root systems are supplied intact - with no loss of fine feeding roots and root hairs so once planted they can grow rapidly not suffering the shock that bare root plants will.
• Uniformity - these plants are more uniform.

NB: Our cell grown plants are sold in quantities of 12. Unfortunately we are unable deliver split bundles. We can offer a substantial volume discount. These plants are between 10-20cm high though the actual height may vary due to the growing season.

Complete Product Information for Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 10-20cm
Our RHS Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist.
Box (Buxus sempervirens) is a slow growing hardy native evergreen hedging plant with fragrant foliage. Box flowers are yellow appearing in late spring. The very dense growth habit and small, glossy dark leaves of the box make it ideal for low formal hedging. It is suitable in any soil, in particular well drained in partial shade. For Hedging, plant young plants just below the nursery soil mark to encourage growth from the base.

As an informal hedge, box requires little pruning. Be guided by the natural habit of this plant. Keep plants to the desired size by pruning back long shoots. Hedging plants can be cut back hard when young to encourage bushy growth.

The Buxus sempervirens has no serious insect or disease problems. Potential diseases include leaf spot and box lights. Potential insects include red spider mite, box sucker and mussel scale.
