Cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata) is a native perennial, widely used for hay and as a forage grass. Cocksfoot is one of the West`s most popular pasture grasses because of its productivity, palatability and tolerance to grazing. Its only weakness is its inability to grow well in the alkaline soils found in sagebrush country.
It grows to 20–120 centimetres tall, with leaves 20-50 cm long and up to 1.5 cm broad, and a distinctive tufted triangular flowerhead 10-15 cm long. It has a characteristic flattened stem base which distinguishes it from many other grasses.
We sell our Cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata) seeds per gram; customers should be aware that when ordering more than one gram of Cocksfoot seeds the entire amount will be bagged together to reduce unnecessary packaging.
