Complete Product Information for Coastal Tree Mix Pack of 8 (14-16cm Girth Root Ball)
Acer platanoides 'Globosum': A Tree which was first introduced in to the UK in the the early 1870s, the Acer platanoides ``Globosum`` is a brilliant looking tree. It is often referred to as a lollipop tree because of its rounded crown, which creates a globular mass of large green leaves. It thrives well on all soils that are humus rich, and it needs a position in full sun or partial shade. It is solution tolerant so is perfect for urban gardens and can reach a height of 10 meters max.


Platanus hispanica: A well known and liked tree in the UK, first recorded in the 1660s it was noted for its resistance to pollution and is often credited with the clearance of smog in London. It has large, broad lobed leaves of green and the trunk flakes to reveal a patchwork of green, white and cream. A mature tree can reach heights upwards of 20 meters.

Populus Tremula: A medium-sized deciduous plant growing to 10 to 25 m tall, with a trunk up to 1 m diameter. The bark is pale greenish-grey and smooth on young trees with dark grey diamond-shaped lenticels, becoming dark grey and fissured on older trees. The leaves on seedlings and fast-growing stems of root sprouts are very different, heart-shaped to nearly triangular, and often much larger, up to 20 cm long. Adult leaves, produced on branches of mature trees, are nearly round, slightly wider than long, 2 to 8 cm diameter, with a coarsely toothed margin and a laterally flattened petiole 4 to 8 cm long.

Sorbus Aucuparia Sheerwater A medium sized tree with an upright habit. It has fine, compound leaves that are blue-green, turning to yellow in autumn. In autumn it bears orange-red fruit that turns bright red with age. It has a mature height of 10-12 meters and a spread of 4 meters, it is a fully hardy tree that is suitable for coastal locations.
