Our Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) is a fast growing and vigorous evergreen shrub that will thrive in difficult areas of the garden such as shady spots with poor soil. The cherry Laurel can either make an thick and effective screening hedge or if left can grow into a medium sized tree. Its leaves are dark green in colour with a leathery texture and shiny finish whilst its white flowers which are produced on spikes in spring will fill any garden with bees and butterflies due to the attractive strong sweet scent it produces. Following spring black fruits are produced in Autumn. This shrub is very hardy and suits most soils, for best results prune in spring or summer.
