In late spring and early summer, the RHS Californian lilac which is also referred to as the Ceanothus thrysiflorus `Repens`, produces round clusters of light blue flowers which are borne with broadly oval, dark green, glossy leaves. Cut dead wood from evergreens in spring and trim their side shoots after flowering. A mid-sizes evergreen shrub ideal for informal hedging or border planting.
