The Betula Pubescens Utilis Jacquemontii tree has a striking white or cream bark, peeling in horizontal bands. Several clones of this variety with outstanding barks have been named as cultivars. The Betula ultilis Jacquemontii is a medium sized tree with ascending branches best known for its distinctive thin, white papery bark that sheds in large sheets routinely each year in winter. The Himalayan Birch fills its upright habit with oval dark green leaves before they turn golden yellow during the autumnal months and display copper brown catkins in spring.
