Our RHS Berberis thunbergii Maria is known for its bright gold leaves and reddish new growth, by autumn its foliage will have dropped the distinguishing yellow colour it displays and takes a more orange to red shade that seems to glow during the crisp autumnal sunsets.
This plant is quite hardy however it will benefit from being watered thoroughly before planting and being kept moist throughout its first year and should reach around 120cm when at ultimate height.
