Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 15-30cm

Product Code:  FASY12

From Only: £22.06 Ex VAT
Or £1.84 Per plant

Our RHS Beech (Fagus sylvatica) cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist. The plants come with their root systems intact, whereas bare root plants can lose the fine feeding roots and root hairs when they are lifted. This means that cell grown plants can become more quickly established than bare root. Another advantage of cell grown Beech is that it can be planted into warm soils when roots are active, outside the dormant period. As long as the roots are kept moist, cell grown plants can be planted throughout the year.

Complete Product Information for Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Pack of 12 Cell Grown 15-30cm
Our RHS Beech (Fagus sylvatica) cell grown plants are extracted from their cells prior to despatch and are wrapped in protective packaging to ensure the root plug stays moist.
The Beech (Fagus sylvatica) is a large and fast-growing deciduous native plant with a broad spreading crown; elliptic, yellow-green leaves in spring, turning rich russet-brown in autumn; and small, green flowers, followed by bristly fruits.

Beech is grown for its superb foliage of delicate fluttery leaves with wavy edges. It has simple beautiful green leaves, which shine with life in spring and turn a beautiful bronze and yellow color in the autumn. It likes sun or partial shade and does well on almost any well drained soil (acid or alkaline).

Trimming the hedge during towards the end of summer helps retain its leaves throughout winter. The hedge retains copper foliage throughout the winter before the delight of its fresh new growth each spring.
