 Our Balsam Spire Poplar is a commonly planted, fast growing hybrid of Western and Eastern Balsam Poplars.
An easily grown plant, The Balsam Spire thrives in a deep rich well-drained soil, growing best in the south and east of Britain.
The Balsam Spire is reasonably wind tolerant, though it does not do well in exposed upland or coastal sites. It comes into leaf early in the year.
Bare root hedging is a very low cost way of planting a hedge, but is only available to buy and plant when dormant (November-March). Orders ahead of 1st November will be stored to guarantee an early delivery date.
