The Amelanchier canadensis is a small but perfectly formed attractive deciduous tree. The tree brings something different to any garden throughout the year with handsome displays of spring blossoms, fruits and autumn colour. In April white elegant starry flowers are produced which are promptly followed by purple to black fruits. Later in autumn the trees foliage passes through a beautiful transition from deep dark greens to vivid shades of rich reds and gold.

The Amelanchier canadensis is a small but perfectly formed attractive deciduous tree. The tree brings something different to any garden throughout the year with handsome displays of spring blossoms, fruits and autumn colour. Later in autumn the trees foliage passes through a beautiful transition from deep dark greens to vivid shades of rich reds and gold.
Whilst this Snowy Mespilus looks delicate and dainty it is actually a very hardy specimen which will tolerate extremes of cold and wet weather whilst urban pollution will also cause it no problems. In moist, peaty soil and with minimum pruning or maintenance this tree will form an attractive compact multi stemmed habit and ideal small garden tree.
