Complete Product Information for All-Purpose Peat Free Compost 1 Cubic Metre Bag
Produced from sustainably sourced, British grown Confier bark, composted green waste materials and additional nutrients the All-Purpose Peat Free Compost is a great product for use around the garden.

Product Uses

Seed Sowing:
Use as directed on your seed packets, if sowing fine seeds then ensure to mix in a horticultural grit or coir based compost. a rate of 50-50 would suffice. Prick out into fresh All-Purpose Peat Free Compost and grow on.

Potting On:
Fill the larger pot with All-Purpose Peat Free Compost and create a planting hole in the centre of the pot. The pot size should increase upto 30% approximately each time you pot on.Place the plant in the planting hole and firm around the new compost. Ensure you do not plant deeper than the original nursery line. i.e. not planting deeper than the original planting depth which can result in killing the plant. Water the newly potted plant well.

Tree and Shrub planting:
Dig your planting hole upto twice the size of the pot or rootball of your plant. Backfill the hole with a mix of extracted soil and All-Purpose Peat Free Compost at a rate of 3-5 parts soil to 1 part All Purpose Peat Free Compost. Ensure to create a backfill that is friable to ensure the best growing environment is created for your plant. Plant to the original depth of the tree or shrub, ensuring you are not planting deeper and potentially damaging your new plant. Firm the compost around the plant and stake if necessary and water well for at least the first growing season. For optimum growth follow on with the subsequent feeding guidelines below.

Subsequent Feeding and Growing:
The All-Purpose Peat Free Compost has a slow release fertiliser mixed in during the packaging stage. This contains enough feed for up to 6 weeks of growth for the plants. After 6 weeks, for the best results, you will need to commence your usual feeding programme to ensure the best growth from the plants.
