Acer Platanoides is a tall tree which is rather rich-looking; the summer foliage will turn a golden yellow in the autumn. This maple has a shallow root system. It should not be planted into the lawn as it will take all the moisture and nutrients out from the soil. The leaves are lobed and about 15cms wide. The yellow flowers are small and they will appear just before the leaves in the spring. This is a hardy species.
