Smoke Bush (Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple')
The Smoke Bush (Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'), more commonly known as the Smoke Bush is a deciduous large hedge plant with rounded deep purple leaves, turning red in autumn. In mid-summer large feathery, pink panicles appear with a faint fragrance, followed by green then grey fruits. The Smoke Bush is highly tolerant of drought and can grow to an average height of 12-15ft, making it the perfect privacy hedge. The Smoke Bush has been awarded the RHS award of garden merit.
