Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia)
The Mountain Ash (
Sorbus aucuparia), or Rowan, forms a native deciduous hedge that is very tolerant. A wildlife haven, it produces lovely white flowers in late spring and large bunches of dark red berries, 1cm across, in autumn. You can even pick the Rowan berries to make a very tasty Rowan jelly.
